Tokugawa
· His father attempted to give him as a hostage to Yoshimoto, but the transfer was intercepted by Oda Nobuhide and held captive. His father had the choice of breaking ties with the Imagawa for his son’s life or not and his father basically told Oda Nobuhide to kill his son. The son was unharmed and managed to survive until his father was able to make an exchange.
· Scored a notable local victory at Terabe and made a name for himself with the provisioning of Odaka. During that instance, he was able to bring in much-needed supplies to a beleaguered fort by tricking the bulk of the attackers into marching away to face a non-existent enemy army.
· Was able to capture Kaminojo, sending a message to Nobunaga that the Matsudaira cut their ties to the Imagawa and to get his hands on two sons of the slain castle commander which he used as barter to get his family members back from Ujizane
· Was able to add Totomi to his domain, increasing the territory that he controlled
· Majorly helped Nobunaga win the Battle of Anegawa against the Asai and Asakura by leading 5,000 of his own men to fight
· Lost Futamata Castle, then suffered a defeat at the Battle of Mikatagahara, where he was enticed to march out of Hamamatsu and face Shingen in open battle, barely escaping with his life
· Threatened Nobunaga that he was going to betray him if he didn’t help him fend off Katsuyori
· Forced his son to commit suicide and have his wife executed since they were accused of conspiring with Takeda Katsuyori and had no firm evidence
· Managed to get a deal with Hideyoshi in a trade that he would give Hideyoshi 5 provinces for 8 provinces
· Was named one of the five regents responsible for ruling while Toyotomi Hideyori came of age. He was probably the most powerful of all of the regents.
