President Obama Misses His Greatest Calling

When President Obama came into office, he had the opportunity to help the black citizens of America in many ways. He promised them the world during the campaign but seems to have left them under the bus, so to speak, once he took on his role as president.

Being the first black president he could and should talk with the younger black citizens and convince them to excel in life and get off of the corner banging with their buddies. He should have spent a lot of time and effort trying to convince the black citizens to make something of them instead of sitting at home watching the “View” and waiting for their monthly welfare check. But that has not happened, nor does it look like it will happen. Spending an afternoon running around with Al Sharpton does nothing to help those people.

I really expected Obama to come up with ideas to help the black community get off of the welfare system and put them to work. Instead he has put many of them in worst shape than they were before he became president.

 In November the US Bureau of Labor Statistics said that unemployment among white citizens was 9.3% and for the black community is was 15.6%. That is almost 50% higher for blacks verses white. In the defense of Obama I will have to say that many black Americans don’t want to work because they are being fed, clothed, and housed at the expense of the average American. Some families have been on welfare for generations and have no plans of working for a living.

 The Obama Administration has went out of their way to protect illegal aliens crossing our border instead of helping the very Americans that are legal citizens and live in poverty. What Obama has done is to show the country his will to start an active campaign again, while his strongest voting base, the black community, suffers and is rarely mentioned by the president. He knows that special programs for the black citizens would anger some white voters. And just like most liberal politicians, he does not want to rock the boat and loose any voters. So his ambition to win a second term has done nothing, maybe made it more harmful, for the very community that put him in office.

What is different about this term of presidency for Obama is out of respect for the “Black President” the civil rights groups have not taken to the streets demanding jobs and other programs to help them. This has backfired on the black community. As long as there are not protest from individuals and groups, the Administration appears to have the idea that they have the black Americans in control and satisfied. How wrong he is.
