Public-sector Strike

Public sector strike and it’s little effect.

What is the point of striking when they’re not going to change anything?

Wednesday the 30 of December 2011. Hundreds of people went out on the streets of Britain striking. This was the biggest strike the country had seen in 30 years. People were filled with anger and all they could think of was the pension changes here in the UK. I have to admit it; I am one of those people even though I’m still in school. I think of the future and say “Is this how it’s going to be for my generation too.” I want it to be changed and I want our prime minster David Cameron to listen to us. I understand why schools are closed, nurses are running out of hospitals; fighting for their needs and why some council services are stopped. However, what’s the purpose of wasting 24 hours of your life trying to achieve something that’s unachievable. Think about it. Is it really worth it? I don’t think so. Yes, everybody has the right to speak, but it doesn’t make any difference, especially when the leader of the country is David Cameron.

Since the coalition government took control, they made so many cuts, pretending that they’re improving the economy. What on earth is Cameron thinking, is it a solution to introduce the cuts and pay less? It’s such a horrible feeling when you’re talking and talking and the person you’re speaking to sticks their fingers in their ears- that is exactly what Cameron does, but then it doesn’t matter if he heard you because he isn’t going to change his mind. I am against the strike, yet I want changes. If you think about it, It doesn’t really matter if you are for or against the strike because nothing will come out of it anyway.
