America’s bird of honor, beautiful and majestic.
America’s most honorable bird, The Bald Eagle is considered to be sacred. The messenger between the gods and human culture, a symbol of peace and fertility. Gliding high, graceful and with poise. The American Bald Eagle is the face behind America’s strength.

They are one of the strongest fliers, diving speeds can reach up to 75-99 mph. While soaring, they can reach up to 35-43 mph. If there is an access to open water, Bald Eagles will stay year round. Though if the water source freezes, they will migrate south.
Though this majestic bird seems strong, reality, their on the endangered species list. Pesticides have made the eggs thinner, making it hard to withstand against the weight of a brooding adult. The illegal shooting and loss of suitable habitat.
When The Bald Eagle is ready to breed, they return to the place they were born. Bald Eagle mate for lift, but if their mate dies or disappears, they will find a new mate. They have the biggest nest in America, being used year after year. They can be as big as 13 ft. deep and 8.2 ft. across, 1.1 short tons.
You will find Bald Eagles near seacoasts, rivers, and oceans, any big body of water. Anywhere there is an abundences of fish and usually a great place for breeding. When they select a tree for nesting, breeding, or roosting they need one with good visibility and proximity to prey.

Unless you are certifiable Native American ancestry enrolled in a federally recognized tribe, you are unable to obtain any eagle feather. The Bald Eagle is protected by the 1918 Migratory Bird Treaty, fully extended through all of North America and Canada. It protects against illegal trapping and killing.
How can you have a National Seal, without actually having it within the country. Keeping these birds safe from harm, is the least we can do for such an honorable bird. The Bald Eagle once faced the arrows on the seal, but with the uprise about that meaning war. It was changed to face toward the olive branches, meaning peace. Keep these amazing creatures safe, without them what kind of seal would we of had? I do not think we want to think about that.
