Rulers

Awadh and brisbane.

So the last week was fun, the balloon activity was awesome and I guess the movie was a perfect example of British Colonization. The balloon activity was a bit weird and I did not understand the purpose.

So starting with the movie, British penetrating the Indian market is something that can be rated as unethical. The rulers of Avid were irresponsible but that does not mean you capture someone else’s market and make profits from it. A ruler who has drinking issues or is involved in prostitution or other luxuries is his problem not the people directly or indirectly involved in your country or the affairs of the country. When the British expanded their business these rulers were either given incentives or bribed, so colonization was not a one side game, it had multiple players.

Secondly when we talk about culture, no matter how pious or religious we are, we tend to adapt culture. In Pakistan we are told to dress in a modest manner but westernization has taught us to dress in the most vulgar manner possible. In the same way we adapt languages. Since English is rated as the globally accepted language we are supposed to know English and be fluent. In order to meet the international standards this is compulsory. We think learning Urdu and ignoring English is patriotism well I term this as IDIOTIC-ism. British colonies were a reason that Pakistan came into existence, so we can label British colonies beneficial for Pakistan? Not really. The rule was tyrannical and do you really think these colonies are worth the sufferings. No they are not. So colonies are usually a forceful attempt to get into a country or state.
