Sgt Evan Vela
Another Throw-Away From The Bush-Cheney Dog and Pony Show.
Sgt Evan Vela is serving 10 years at Ft. Leavenworth. A brave enlistee who left his wife and 2 children to serve his Country in a time of war, he now sits and rots in a prison cell. His crime? He followed his surperior’s order and killed an Iraqi who was threatening to give away their position, allowing nearby insurgents the chance to attack Sgt. Vela and his fellow soldiers. His surperior who gave the order to kill the Iraqi was acquited of murder charges, but Sgt Vela is rotting away in a cell. For a far more detailed story of Sgt. Vela’s plight, Google “Sgt Evan Vela”.
After reading more of his story, I hope you’ll join in the fight to get Sgt. Vela released. I think it’s time to start raising hell. Call your Congressman and demand his participation in efforts to free Vela. Get your local VFW in the fight! Write letters to the editor, informing those who are unaware of Sgt. Vela’s fight for freedom. He fought for you, now it’s time we fight for him.
On leaving the White House, President Bush had to oppurtunity to pardon SGT Vela, but failed to do so. Evidently he was more concerned with his image as a tough “war” President, than doing the right thing. This attitude comes from the fact that this country has released numerous known American Soldier Killers, such as Laith al-Khanzali, who kidnapped and then murdered 5 American Soldiers.
This Country took a young married father out of Idaho. They then turned him into an Airborne-Ranger Sniper. He did what he was trained to do, and not sits in an AMERICAN prison.
