Shakespearean England

A report on what life was like when Shakespeare lived, commonly called the Elizabethan era.

Conclusion

Health:

The health of the average people was very poor and many people did not know about bacteria and hygiene. There was no plumbing so water came from a well. Sewage was thrown out the window.

Superstitions:

Superstitions were often heavily religion based like the belief that left handed people were possessed by the devil. In Elizabethan times many things were just accepted and not questioned. These beliefs were often believed due to the average person being uneducated.

Recreation:

People in Elizabethan times would have more of a hard and boring life so they would need recreation more than today. They enjoyed theatre, blood sports and some board games. Many of these were the basis of some of our sports and games.

Overall the life of the people was very poor and they had little knowledge. Life was a lot harder than what it is today.
