Skirt for Men? – Know More About Kilt!
The kilt is the target of many a joke and hearty comment for more years than it can probably remember!
But it’s just because it is the target of so many jokes to be?
For not only is the Kilt a recognized fashion item in its own right, it is also more importantly a world recognized symbol of a country and the fierce national pride contained!
Many a soldier has shuddered and shaken with fear in centuries past, when faced with a Scottish warrior, swirling kilt pin steadfast despite the normality, broadsword or other deadly weapon sharp cutting huges scythes in the air when it is loaded.
In fact, many areas of the war purely dressed by the arrival of the Scots in their kilts won tradional tartan. For many, the knowledge that the carrier was wearing nothing underneath reason enough to panic! In addition, the ferocity of such a warrior, and many of them would not stand up.
But since those heady days of fighting melee battles and face to face, something remains of the mystery and folklore of the kilt. Ideas that you only wear a tartan kilt, if you are a member of this clan to keep still, wrongly, in many cases.
Maybe a few people hold the kilt?
Or is the fear of society’s view of a man wearing effectively what many still describe as a skirt also play an important role?
But what then of the men among us, as the manliest of men be known? Is wearing a kilt reduce their appearance and reputation at all? Famous personalities such asSean Connery, Billy Connely, Ewan McGregor or Mel Gibson?
How many women have – and still would – swoon clean away to see Mel Gibson walking towards her, swaying kilts in time, his steps? I strongly suspect – the most! It would not be a swoon induced by dislike or despise, nor one where they are disagreements about the nature and strength of the man involved has been improved.
I had the great pleasure of wearing a kilt for many, many years ago when I was six. The occasion was a Page Boy for my uncles and aunts wedding. White ruffled shirt, red and blue tartan kilt with sporran and shoes. The only thing missing was the topping. For some reason, never explained properly by my parents, they seemed to be very nervous about walking around their 6-year-old offspring with a little dagger stuck in the top of his socks! Killjoy!
Even now, looking back at the old black and white photos – yes, it was so long ago – I get a thrill of seeing yourself dressed Sun
Why?
Because it is different, unique, and was – dare I say – I looked damn good! (I seem to remember it made a huge impression on my fellow official for the occasion, the bridesmaid called Candy, a curly blonde haired girl a year older than me.
