T.I. Saves Suicidal Man

Famous rapper T.I. saved a man from committing suicide on October 13, 2010.

Rapper T.I. saved a man from committing suicide in Atlanta, Georgia on Wednesday. The man was about to jump off a 22-story skyscraper when T.I. heard about him on the radio as T.I. (His real name is Clifford Harris) was driving to a video shooting. He said that “something in my heart just said, ‘You gotta help’”. T.I. drove to the scene and asked policemen if he could help.

He persuaded the man down with a video message which negotiatiors played for the man. T.I. told Us about the video, “It just said, ‘Ya know, I’m looking forward to meeting you. I’m here, you know it’ll get better, all you gotta do is help me help you. Make the right decision. I’ll be waiting for you when you get down here.’”

In 20 minutes, the man had come down, and he and the rapper had a short conversation. T.I. said that the man didn’t speak much, and you could tell that he was worn down. T.I. told the man that “‘No matter how bad it seems, things can always get better and will get better, if you allow them to. If you know anything about me, you know I know.’” The man was then escorted to a hospital.

T.I. said that he was surprised by the whole ordeal. He said, “That’s a level of life that you don’t find yourself on often.  In all of my experiences, it’s very rare that I find a first, and that was a first. I was definitely playin’ above my head.” He also said that he hopes to “continue to be able to reach people’s lives in a positive way. I was just doing what God led me to do.”
