Greene and Washington prove you can lose the battles, but win the war. Explain why, using examples. What is the moral to this story?

Although Generals Greene and Washington lost the majority of the battles in the American Revolution, they ended up winning the war. After each battle that Washington lost, he further realized that the British followed the rules of law precisely. During the Battle at Breed and Bunker Hills, the American soldiers used “dirty” methods of fighting against the organized and distinguished British, putting the British in a state of shock and defeat. Not only did Washington and Greene discover the British ways of fighting, but they also learned more about the way the British generals formed battle strategies. The two skilled generals studied the battle tactics of the British, created countermeasures like shooting and running, and in result, won the crucial battles of the American Revolution. Greene and Washington focused on being victorious in major battles of the American Revolution instead of the small battles. Even though the British won the majority of the American Revolution battles, the Americans won most of the major battles, some of which were at Breed and Bunker Hills, Trenton, Saratoga, and Yorktown. The moral to all of Greene and Washington’s efforts is that the number of victories that an army has cannot determine the outcome of an entire war. The British, who were very powerful in terms of military force, won more than half of the battles in the American Revolution and still lost to the Americans.

Looking back at the whole American Revolution, it appears that God wanted the United Status to win. Explain this statement using as many coincidences and near misses or nick-of-time successes as you can.

Based on everything that occurred during the American Revolution, I strongly believe that God was a tremendous part of the Colonies’ victory. On Christmas Eve, Colonel Rowl did not read the note regarding the upcoming battle in Trenton. Without God’s assistance in this matter, Rowl would have taken the time to stop celebrating, read the note, and prepare for the arrival of the Americans. Congress heard from local Patriots that Admiral Howe was at the Delaware Bay making his way toward Philadelphia to capture the Congress. If God had not directed the locals in the way of the bay, Howe would have arrived in Philadelphia, Congress be incarcerated by Howe, and the British would win the American Revolution since there would be no one governing the Colonies. The British reinforcements that were supposed to arrive in time for the last battle of the American Revolution came one week too late. We do not know the exact reason of the delaying of the British sea fleets, but I know in my heart that God blessed America by adjourning the arrival of the British sea support. Due to the immense support that God gave us, we were able to win the American Revolution and gain freedom from Great Britain.

Why do you think Arnold turned traitor? Explain with examples.

In the 1780s during the American Revolution, General Benedict Arnold, a vital part of the American army, turned against the Americans and became a British soldier. England was the most powerful country at the time. There were more territories under English rule than any other country, making Great Britain the number one world superpower. The British army was strong compared to the armies of other countries. Arnold might have felt that his many unique talents, most of which were associated in the art of war, should be in more capable hands like those of the British. England was in control of several other colonies. If England could control all of those other colonies, it should be a cinch for them to win the American Revolution. Because of Arnold’s hunger for victory, he turned to England, and in result, karma might have turned on them, bringing America their independence from England.
