The Apollo Moon Landings Actually Did Happen
Over 15% of the American people believe the Apollo moon landings never happened. They believe that the United States never put a man on the moon.
According to most polls, somewhere around 17% of the American public believe the moon landings never took place. They contend that the events were made on a soundstage and that America never put a man on the moon. This in spite of the fact that thousands of people all over the world were involved and that no physical evidence has been presented to support the assertion. This conspiracy theory has resulted in a multi-million-dollar cottage industry.
Despite the fact that thousands of people worked in the Apollo program, there has been no tell-all book, major newspaper article or television interview in the forty years since the event. There are books and articles that hype the hoax theory. However, they do not offer any physical evidence to support their allegations, and they ignore other evidence that refute their claims. For example, Apollo 11 astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Armstrong left reflective mirrors on the moon that are still used to reflect laser beams back to Earth.
Bottom Line: So many people were involved and there is so little evidence to the contrary that the moon landings had to have happened.
Here’s another thing. The landings had to have been faked not once but seven times, including the aborted Apollo 13 mission. Why would NASA fake a failure when they could have had another success? And there were no attempts to cover up the fatal fire on the launch pad of Apollo I, not to mention the space shuttle missions.
What I want to know is why do so many Americans have this compulsive need to believe things that make their own country look bad? I think they are jealous of the hero status heaped upon astronauts. Or maybe they just want attention. There are even people who believe the Federal Government itself attacked the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on September 11, 200l.
Now, if you want a conspiracy theory, investigate the story I have heard almost all of my life. This is the one about the Russian cosmonaut who died on a space mission about a year before Yuri Gagarin became the first man in space. Supposedly, this space pilot had a launch that was so successful that the Soviets actually announced it. However, the rocket had too much power and the cosmonaut went hurtling into space. All over the world, ham radio operators reported hearing the man scream as he headed toward the sun.
Pretty cool, huh?
