The Battle of the Coral Sea
The Battle of the Coral Sea was one of the most important battles of WWII.

In conclusion, the Battle of Coral Sea was a major battle in the war in the Pacific and was also considered, with the Battle of the Midway, to be the turning point in the Pacific Theater thus ending Japan’s hope of establishing a new oceanic empire. Due to the battle, the Japanese were forced to cancel their invasion plans of Port Moresby. Also, the Japanese carrier Shokaku, which received serious bomb damage, and the carrier Zuikaku’s whose air wing was badly depleted, resulted in the two carriers being unable to assist in the Battle of the Midway. Many historians believe that the absence of these two Japanese large carriers contributed to the Japanese defeat at the Battle of the Midway which secured Japan’s fate in World War II.
