The Bloodiest Battle of World War I

In WW1 there was many upsetting and bloody battles and I will tell about the most ruthless of them all.

The Battle of Somme. The four words strike many Americans hearts and leave them in despair. The battle was in 1916 and lasted a little more than 5 months. There were over 1 million dead and more wounded in desperation to defend Canada.

In 1916 British forces pushed forward on the gates of Somme Valley. Many young soldiers lost their very own lives to defend our sacred nation in this attempt to take Somme Valley. In the end the Allies only pushed forward 13 kilometers in the bloodiest battle of them all.
