The Children’s March

Ok so I know you don’t see many people writing about this so I thought maybe I should put it up. I wrote this back in 7th grade yeah it’s been a good 3-4 yrs. I didn’t write this because the teacher said so I wrote it because we watched a movie and I decided too.

The Children’s March is something hopefully everyone already knows about. I have been knowing about it for a long time but When i seen a movie about it a few years ago it made a big difference, It is very inspiring and amazing.

Everyone gathered in the church trying to decide what to do about the situation at hand, Martin Luther King asked “Who will be willing to go to jail tonight?” and only the children stood up. The day of the march all the kids were jumping out the windows and running out the doors of the school not one kid stayed behind. They all went to the church singing and clapping their hands ready for what awaits them, until the police got there. It was just the first day and already over 900 children, while kids were coming out the front door what the cops didn’t know was there was more coming in through the back. It really shocked the police because the children were singing and smiling, yelling “arrest me, arrest me i want to go to jail”. The next day the march went on over 1,000 children came from different places even out of town. The jail house became full so they had to start releasing children at random, even in the middle of the night and you know what; them same children went right back the next day. Next the police brought out the hoses it hit the children so hard they went flying down the street, people were bleeding and crying they knew about the spitting and beating but no body said anything about the hoses. And still in the end there was five kids just five standing. They were all holding hands and singing. It was amazing because the next day came with their swimsuits on, they were ready for what was to come. Finally word got to the president and everything changed. And this all started because Rosa Parks was arrested.
