The Egyptian Religion
The ancient Egyptians had many Gods.
The main were Isis, Horus, and Osiris. Osiris was believed to have been a pharaoh in ancient times. His brother became very jealous and murdered him, sliced him to pieces, and spread the peaces around the deserts. The queen; Isis quickly realized and using her magical powers she collected the remains and made a new body for him. They had a son in which they named Horus. Horus had a head of a hawk and the body of a man.
It is believed that every pharaoh was Horus and, then when they died they became a ruler of the under world, or Osiris.
There are many miner gods too for instance Hath or the cow god: he is in charge of pottery and steel working. Seckhmet; lioness god was in charge of the sands. Anubis; the god of death was the protector of Horus; also he was always seen as a black jackal and never in humane form. Mata was an ostrich. Mutt was the vulture god. Neckahbet was a Voltaire’s (goddess in vulture form). Wad jet was the cobras god.
There is one more god of the great Egyptian god of all. Many temples were built, as thousands of Egyptians worshiped him. Temples and many monuments were made in his honor.
