The Fall of Rome

Just a brief discussion on why I believe Rome fell around 463A.D (Internal and external Influences)

Hi everyone, I would like to say This is My first ever Post to this website. However I believe i have a very intresting Subject to talk about. Now Rome I thought.  Rome has always been intresting to me but always wondered why it fell when i was younger. It seemed that this great empire had everything going for it.

Now lets start of in Ancient greece. Why? Well Most people are familiar or atleast have a basic understanding of The Greeks and religion. The Golden ages of the ancient greeks were about 500B.C to about 800B.C ABOUT I think thats fair to say. Now In this time you had the emergence of philosiphers such as Socrates, Plato, Aeschylus, Aristophanes, Euripides, and Menander.(just listing some important people to give a little background.) Now There are countless myths, tales, fables, stories, what ever you want to call them about Heros and Gods and the slaying of mythical beasts. Now Back then, The leader of all these gods names Was Zeus. Zeus was the king of the gods. He was also the son of Kronos(Big fatty who ate his kids). There was also Hades, whos domain was the underworld and posiden whos domain was the sea. These are 3 of the more known gods. There are Probably Hundreds of god’s and demigods(IE: Hercules Half God Half Mortal) Now These Gods ( Zeus, Hades, and Posiden) Controlled the entire planet and who knows how many realms but they had all of greece looking to them for guidence. Now around 390 B.C the Roman Emperor Theodosis banned the olympics in greece. Now remember how I said “ROMAN EMPEROR” Roman’s had different gods. Instead of Posiden they had Neptune. Instead of Zeus they had Jupitor ect ect. Now There isnt much variation between the Greek Gods and the Roman Gods. Except a few MINOR differences that I don’t feel are that Necisary to mention. Now The greek Culture and all of the cultures from the greek and roman empire and all the lands they conqured were all being some together into an orgy of culture. However The roman Empire spread to thin. It was leading to economic instability and the military was spread thin. From the north Layed the Germanic tribes that came from Modern day Poland, Germany, Czech republic. They were called barbarians. Now around  473 ADwhen the Germanic  Odacer deposed the last Roman emperor to rule the western part of the Roman Empire. However, the people who lived through the takeover would probably be surprised by the importance we place on this event. And there are other, reasonably momentous dates for the Fall of the Roman Empire.  This Split the empire in two. Into an Eastern and western. The eastern became the Byzentine empire  whos capital was Constantinople which is now Moderday Istanbul. The western half stayed centered in around italy.  Why Would this nation Split. Well years earlier there were The Germanic Tribes to the north who were having a campaign on the outskirts on the Roman borders. A huge Barbarian horde who was set on conquering all of eastern and western europe, and an economic instability in the heart of Italy/rome.  Economic Instability in rome was the outcome of rome spreading it’s resorces to thin. It was Constently expanding taking over these new lands however these new lands were providing for what i cost to maintain and guard them. Along with a Standing army. This standing army was a PAID, PROFFESIONAL ARMY WHICH COSTS LOTS OF MONEY.   Now My thoughts on why Rome Collapsed was mainly due to the over expansion. Rome could not support the land that is was taking control of so slowly it was losing control of it’s own empire Internally.
