The First Thanksgiving Day
This is an article that my son Steven wrote for school. He made "100" on it. He’s very proud and wants me to share it with my friends here on Triond.

On September 16th, 1492, the pilgrims left England to find religious freedom. They were tired of being treated like trash and wanted to be free.
So 102 pilgrims got on a ship called the Mayflower. They were crossing the Atlantic Ocean to get to America. During the trip an important beam broke. After fixing it, the pilgrims were worried that they wouldn’t make it.
After several weeks, they arrived at Plymouth Rock, Massachusetts. Life was bad. During the winter of 1620-1621, half the pilgrims died. After awhile they met a group of Indians. The Indians helped the pilgrims by planting crops and hunting.
The Indians liked the pilgrims so much that they started Thanksgiving. The Indians brought most of the food.
I think Thanksgiving is nice because it’s the time to give to others.
