The Harlem Renaissance was a time during the great depression. It was very hard times for African Americans at this time. It was also hard for the rest of America at this time. The Harlem Renaissance was one of the greatest moments in African Americans history.

     The Harlem renaissance was the migration of African Americans. The Harlem Renaissance generally considered to have begun in 1917. When two events marked a turning point for back literary and artistic achievement. The African Americans were segregated a lotMos of the African Americans were illiterate. Great waves of African Americans migrated to northern cites to take advantage of the many factory jobs that opened up in the response to world war I.

The Harlem renaissance was one of the greatest times in Black history. Harlem then came to symbolize the central experience to African American urban life, providing many platforms of or the expression of ideas reflecting a new found racial pride, determination, and creativity Many books were published at this time Harlem had many writers from 1923-1929

     During the Great Depression, Harlem suffered, as did the rest of America. But, the spirit of the people and the impact they had on American culture did no diminish. In the latter part of the 20th Century Harlem has not escaped the urban decay common to many American citiesHowever; it remains an important community with a rich history
