The Incas
Climate, location, and more.
Climate
The Climate in the land of the Incas, was extremely diverse, on one end there would be snowy mountains and glaciers, and on the other end deserts and sand dunes. The center was where the Incas settled, near Cuzco because that’s where the climate was most reasonable to live.
Location
The Incas Territory was in Peru and parts of Southern Chile, they had quite a big territory and they had “message runners” that would run from one place to another carrying a message to tell another message carryer so he would take it a bit further, until it finally reached the desired location.
Farming
The Incas where agriculturally based and they farmed alot on mountains and they would cut into the mountain to make different steps to farm on. They farmed mostly roots, and they had over 100 types of native potatoes. Also they had a root that translates to “earth apple” which they used alot, including in religiouse ceremonies.
Animals
The most common animals in the area are Llammas and Alpacas. They ate alpacas because the meat was more tender than Llammas and they rode Llammas and used them to carry things. Also another animal native to the area are the Peruvian Brown Pelicans.
