The Industrial Revolution: Part 7

The Empire and the Navy in Britain.

The British Empire was very powerful at the time of the industrial revolution as it had control of many areas in India and America; also Britain had one of the greatest navies in the world. The British Empire has helped keep the industrial revolution alive because of its significance in the trade of produce from other countries in its power. This was a great opportunity for businessmen who import and export goods to Britain and from it. This kept business going in Britain.

The Navy helped keep peace with other countries to make trade easier.

The Slave Trade

The slave trade was, in my opinion the most significant cause for the industrial revolution even though it was a harsh business. It was the major cause of the wealthiness of the country and the cause of the triangular trade.

The Slave trade also was the cause of the cotton production boom and also sugar.

Slaves were crowded on slave ships but one slave ship could be sold for a lot of money in those days.

However, the British Parliament abolished slave trading in 1807 and America followed in 1809.
