The Influenza Pandemic of 1918
One of the most major outbreaks during World War 1.
The year of 1918 will be remembered as one of the most terrifying ever. An influenza pandemic spread across the world and infected more than one-fifth of the world’s population. 28% percent of Americans were caught by this disease.
During the pandemic, the American lifespan reduced by ten years. In India, the rate of deaths were 50 to every 1,000 people. Science labs raced to find a cure to stop the spreading. This disease lasted only for a year but was a major influence to the war and it disappeared a mysteriously as it had arrived.
