starting ipod podcasts, which included creation of mp3 music files which were downloadable and which worked properly on Apple’s wonder product named iPod. After the release of the iPod, people started wondering what different things that they could do with this amazing thing. Some even went to the extent of adding other operating systems to it or some other software on it, which wasnt present on it earlier. People were already using Really Simple Syndication which is popularly called as RSS to spread the files among the online masses. People started using the podcasts to fulfill their desires like becoming a RJ which wouldnt have been possible otherwise. Other people who were related to the music industry like the DJ’s started podcasting as a great medium to get their music across the internet audience.
Seeing the popularity that podcasts were gaining, some people created softwares which could detect the music files in RSS and download them. Such programs were called as
podcast clients. Seeing the popularity of iPod podcasts, some people also tried using the PSP or PlayStation Portable as a device for podcasts. It was obviously more tough than using iPods as podcasters as it had different software. People started using the iPod podcasts as a means of spreading awareness, giving tips to people, hosting news and many more things.
