The Persian Royal Road
This article tells about the Royal Road and it’s uses.
The Road was the longest road in Persia stretching across the entire empire. It was about 1,500 miles long and was constructed and repaired by many empires and Persian kings. The Persian couriers that went on it were the fastest in the world at that time. They could cross the empire in a couple of days, but it took a lot longer for a common merchant to cross the empire. The road also helped there trade. This road also stabilized their empire because messengers could cross it with such great speed and inform people of the news and without it their trade would have been lower, they would not have been able to react very fast or communicate with other leaders as good as they did.
