The Power of One
What can one man do? If you look back in history, you find that one man can create a nation or bring it to its knees. How are you going to use your power?
Collapse
Sometimes all it takes is one man to bring down an empire. Take for example rogue trader – Nick Leeson who brought down Barings Bank. I know that he has done his time this is an example of one person can bring down an empire.
Rome, one of the most powerful empire in ancient times. But look at how one man – Emperor Nero brought about the burning of Rome. One could argue that Rome was already on a decline before him but he was the last emperor of that great empire.
Inspirations
Mahatma Gandhi brought about the downfall of the British empire in India. Again, it all just started with one man who inspired the whole nation to act.
Then there is Mother Theresa who made helping the poor and the hopeless something to be proud about.
John F Kennedy, is in my mind the most revered President of United States. He was the one President that inspired the nation to look towards the nation rather that to self gains.
Against all odds
Qin Shi Huang was the first person to unite the whole of China. Though the way he did it was controversial, it shows how one person can succeed where many failed.
Roger Bannister ran the four minute mile. That was at the time when everybody said that it is impossible.
Conclusion
If you look through the history books you will find a lot of examples of the power of one. The question is are we going to use the power for good or bad? This is a message to all, especially those in power and influence, how are you going to use your power of one?

I like your title and I like how you’ve built the article from there. I do agree that one person can do a lot! Even in today’s world. JK Rowling, one person, has created a storm in the reading world through Harry Potter and has encouraged so many children to read. Bill Gates, one person, has revolutionised technology! It is so true that one person can do so much that it will be quite revolutionary!

well said. the power of one may seem nothing but it’s actually something that could be breath taking and amazing and at times, festering.
