The Start and The Development of Political Parties

The Start and Development of the Political Parties of the American government.

The political parties began when Alexander Hamilton started arguing with Thomas Jefferson and James Madison about how the Constitution should be interpreted. Hamilton supported the British government and opposed the French Revolution, while Jefferson and Madison opposed the British government and supported the French Revolution.

Hamilton wanted to create a strong central government, while Jefferson and Madison feared it would slowly descend into tyranny. Hamilton pictured a nation where trade, manufacturing, and cities, basically the overall economy, grew and prospered, while Madison and Jefferson wanted it to become a peaceful, rural nation consisting of planters and farmers, essentially focusing on the overall prospects of teamwork and peace.

Madison and Jefferson formed the Democratic party, which shows they’re faith of democracy and the republican system, and their party attracted the farmers and planters of the nation, which was exactly what they wanted the nation to become. Hamilton created the Federalist party, which attracted northern merchants and manufacturers, which is the type of people he preferred the country to become.
