The State of Texas

Citizens view; In General, and health of Texas!

For years Texas has gained strength in the union of the united states as one of the leaders in the ever changing world we live in. Memories from a child hood long since passed shed clear reflections of man made progress towards reaching into ever vast stretches of the once wild untamed region’s of Texas. For what price will the world have to pay for cities and town that are expanding into the vast surrounding hills of central Texas; I ask?. All throughout history man has proved to be worthy of having no limits. As one great explorer from the early 1800’s described it; “What right does man have to fence off open ranges” so holds true in mans ever revolving conquest to gain control of civilization’s towards the greater cause of man kind.

As the world progresses into the new millenium are there any limits as to what mankind can acheive? One might answer that broad question, but one thing remains to hold true! in this world there is one thing that remains constant! And that is; Change is  the only thing constant!

Since it’s founding back in the 1860’s other then the construction of the dams in the 1940’s and 50’s along the once untamed wild Colorado river, and perhaps the state highway 281 and various other farm to market roads it seems hard to reconcile that the once quiet small town of marble falls Texas would be subjected to the heavy demands of modern times. Very Much like many small towns in the united States, and in the rest of the world that are within reach of a big city man has showed little mercy in the progress of modern times. Jobs are created and civilization is cultivated into a pristine culture of americans we all know! but are we beeing forced to give up our heritage?, slowly perhaps. Like the dwindling buffalo herds from the plains!? likely. Is it our choice? unlikely: For the world is constantly changing and science proves that all living things must evolve in order to survive.

In the wake of this growth: of our world’s population! much like to the loss of our wild frontier back when man was paving a way to settle the west to the many who fought hard for the cause, i ask: were they thinking of what would be lost in their desperate attempts to conquer for a better life.

Miles is well on his way of beeing the next legendary western writer, look for him in bookstores and online he’s a true legend in the making. www.outskirtspress.com/bruskranch

Nice intro. Found a few punctuation and spelling errors, causing me to re-read in a couple of places. You have an ability to strike different cords, in the same genre, giving each story a new face.
