The Worst Plague Ever
There have been many plagues throughout history, but only a one stands out because of the impact on society: The Black Death.
The Black Death is a plague that occured in the Late Middle Ages. It lasted from 1347-1351. Many historians believe that the plague originated from China, and spread along the Silk Road. The Black Death was not just one disease, but various kinds of diseases. One form was called bubonic plague, which could be identified by swellings. A very deadly form of the plague fould be spread through the air and killed people in less than a day.
The Black Death killed at least one-third of Europe’s population-perhaps 25 million people. The Black Death also had positive effects. Since there weren’t enough people to work in the fields, peasants and serfs could demand a large amount of money for their services. This helped start the Renaissance
