The Zeppelin

About the Zeppelin Airships.

The Zeppelin is a type of airship originally created by Ferdinand von Zeppelin in the beginning of the 20th century. He created his designs in 1874, detailed them in 1893, reviewed by a committee in 1894, and patented his designs in 1895. His first airship was flown over Bodensee in 1900.

These airships have changed over the years. At first the Zeppelin were a new technological advancement, but now they are being created to carried large amounts of weight. The new Cargolifter AG was created to carry very heavy loads. In addition, there are new airships created to carry people, for tours and for transportation. There is a creation in progress called the Zeppelin ET (Euro Tour) that will soon be taking its first trip with a large amount of people on board.

Zeppelin airships have also changed in length and speed. For example, the first model was around 500 feet long. The airships used during WWI were 660 feet long. The first airships cruised the skies at fifty miles per hour, but now, they have reached speeds ninety miles per hour.

I believe that riding in a Zeppelin would probably be one of the most amazing sights you could probably see. It would be much better than riding thousands of feet in the air through clouds in an airplane; you could see everything clearly from above.
