Today in History Iran Hostage Crisis
by Today 31 years ago the iranian hostages were set free.
this began when the united states let the former leader of iran the shah leave new york for medical treatment .
those crazy iranians took hostage 52 us citizens captive and they remained captive for the next 14 months
the current president jimmy carter tried to diplomaticly he then ordered a rescue mission which ended horribly were 8 servicemen died and didnt rescue a single hostage
3 months later the shah died in egept but the conflict continued as iran was still pissed at us for not listening to them
in november of 1980 president carter lost his reelection to ronald reagan and within minutes after reagans inaguration speech iran called back and relased all of the prisoners
