Two Nations That Changed the World

Without these two nations (Britain and the United States of America), our world would be entirely different in many ways.

It’s amazing, the unprecedented rise of the Brits and the Americans to their dominant positions of power and influence in the modern world. History show that their rise to greatness began the turmoil of the protestant reformation, having breaking away from Rome and faced with the hostility of both the continental church and imperial Spain (then the most nation in the world).

During the reign of queen Elizabeth I (1558-1603) explorers were sent throughout the whole world. This led to the establishment of colonies that later developed into the United State of America and the nations of the British common wealth. Historians have called these countries “revolutionary empires” they were not despotic tyrannies as some other countries were; empires in which everyone was subjected to domineering autocrats ( e.g Adolph Hitler of Germany, Idi Amin of Uganda, e.t.c)

I want to ask why history has been so benevolent to Britain and the United State of America?. Why have they been bless so favorably over the nations that preceded them in history? Surprisingly as it may seem, both countries were destined according to bible prophecy to become superpowers. One was to precede the other to world power status. Both would even be called upon to save other nations from the forces of despotism. Above all, they would make democratic and religious freedom for the English-speaking nation.

In the century between the end of the napoleonic wars and the beginning of world war I (1914-1918), British capital and expertise develop the economies of her colonies and contributed to the development of the fledging United States and the newly independent nations of south America. After world war II (1939-1945), America’s economic prosperity and generosity via the marshal plane got europe and japan moving again. In the two world wars, British common wealth and the United State virtually saved the entire civilized world from the powers intent on world domination.
