Views of Joe Biden

In fact, they go to the heart of our security in this new century.

Joe Biden announced his desire to run for President of the United States on January 7, 2007 on Meet the Press. Joe Biden also campaigned for president in 1988. Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr. is the senior senator from the state of Delaware.

Now, as Obama’s walking mate to the office of vice-president, his ideas are something you ought to think about.

Like millions of Americans, they are asking questions as ordinary as they are profound, questions they never, ever thought they’d must ask themselves.

Every single night, I take the train home to Wilmington, Delaware, sometimes late. As I sit there in my chair & I look out that window, I see those flickering lights of the homes that pass by, I can  listen to the conversation they are having at their kitchen tables after they put their kids to bed.

Ought to Mom move in with us now that Dad’s gone? Fifty, sixty, seventy dollars to fill up the gas tank? How in God’s name, with winter coming, how are they going to heat the home? Another year, no raise. Did you listen to them, they may be cutting our health care at the company? Now they owe extra money on our home than our home is worth. How in God’s name are they going to send the kids to college? How are they going to retire, Joe?

The election in November is a vital opportunity for The United States to start anew. That will need over a lovely soldier. It will need a wise leader.

This administration sees development & diplomacy as soft tools that are secondary to our nation’s security.

Barack Obama is that wise leader.

In fact, they go to the heart of our security in this new century.

In 2007, Sen. Obama called for sending two additional combat brigades to Afghanistan. They was right then & he’s right now.

In addition to acknowledging the sacrifice of our fallen warriors with a simple thank you, they can also honor their service by ensuring they keep our commitments to their brothers & sisters in uniform who return home. After  two years of non-stop war, with lots of our soldiers on their second, third, or fourth deployment, I have made a personal dedication to keep the pressure on this Administration every single day to alter work in Iraq & bring our troops home as soon as feasible.
