What Does Barak Obama Really Bring to The Presidency?
After the last few embarrassing years, what is REALLY important?
Politics are important. I know this. I remind myself every day. I try, really hard, to care about what is important. Still, you know the things I like best about having Barak Obama as our president?
He looks good.
I know, I know. It’s so shallow.
But isn’t it nice knowing that our main representative is attractive enough to be on the cover of GQ Magazine? And it’s a positive thing, politically when you think about it, because when he smiles that incredible smile, people seem to melt.
Another thing I like about President Obama is: he knows how to talk.
Surely I’m not the only person in this country who was embarrassed, watching our president of the last few years stutter and stammer in front of national leaders. I can’t be the only one who breathes a sigh of relief when President Obama begins talking—and says words which are actually in the dictionary.
The third thing I like about our present president is that he—and his wife—know how to dress. They have taste. Still, they push the envelope a bit, refusing to dress like color-blind ancients.
So, what I like about our president is that he looks good, he is intelligent (and his speech shows it) and he and his wife dress young and well. Shallow? I suppose. But it’s so nice to be able to be proud of our Commander-in-Chief, for a change.
