White House Announced That President Hu Jintao Will Visit The United States

The White House said in a statement issued on Wednesday, “President Hu’s visit will highlight the importance of expanding cooperation between the United States and China on bilateral issues and regional and global, as well as the friendship between the peoples of our two countries.”

And Hu will hold talks with U.S. President Barack Obama, who will host an official dinner in his honor.

The White House said that Obama wants to “continue to build a partnership that promotes our common interests and address our common concerns.”

China did not confirm the date for the visit is being considered for a long time, saying only that it is likely to occur early 2011.

It is likely to urge his Chinese counterpart, Obama increase the pressure on its ally, North Korea, which escalated tensions in the region by bombing the island of South Korean artillery last month and declared to achieve rapid progress in uranium enrichment, which gives it a second track to nuclear weapons.

It is likely that the talks the two leaders also address U.S. complaints that China keeps its currency (RMB) yuan artificially low, giving it an unfair advantage in trade.

And  U.S. trade increased deficit with China rose 20 percent in the first ten months of 2010 may exceed $ 270 billion for the whole year when final figures are issued. And will surpass the record level in 2008 amounting to 268 billion dollars.

Cast and many members of Congress blame for this huge deficit on the currency restrictions imposed by Beijing, although most economists say it is merely one among many factors.
