While Einstein and Newton are always remembered for their dedication to the mankind owing to their inventions there are many other small but helpful inventions that went unnoticed by the society.

In the year 1903, Michael Owens invented a glass bottle machine that can produce about 300,000 bottles at the same time that was taken by the old traditional method of blowing the air into the molten glass with the help of pipe.

While using the old method the time taken to produce 200 bottles was same as the one taken by this new Owen’s machine that can produce about 3 lacs of bottles.

For the first time after thousands of years this new machine paved the way for bottle industry and other related professions.

Michael Owens had not only invented the machine to make glass bottles but he later also invented machine to make flat glass.

While earlier glass was very costly to purchase many house owners had not preferred for the big window glasses but now after the invention of glass bottle machine glass rates had gone down and it was affordable by common people.

That’s amazing info on glass bottles. I always took them for granted. It’s interesting to know that 100 years ago, it took 300,000 times longer to make one single bottle. Great article and have a nice day.
