I'd say Mao as the worst. Yep, Adolf Hitler sure was a jerk and a really racist bastard. However, yea sorry to say but I do have to point out one good thing WW2 did bring.. The rocket engine. Hitlers scientists were genius. Without them, the turbine engine airplanes and super fast fighter planes might never got built. That is, however, the only good thing that came with WW2. But Mao, "The Great Step Forward." Wouldn't call it that, more "Starving of 45 million or more innocent Chinese." Hes less known than Hitler, since WW2 was over most of the world, and Mao was just in China, but nevertheless, Mao is a bigger ass than Adolf. I now see a George Joseph going on with the nuclear bombing of Japan, which yes, was cruel but most likely necessary to stop Japan. After all, Japan brought USA into the war in the first place.

"First on the list, of course"?? Saddam Hussein?? Why's that, because everyone knows who he is maybe? It's insulting that people so easily forget about Stalin and Mao who were collectively responsible for the deaths of around 70-80 million people!

hey Madeline:

I understand where your coming from, kinda like what the first Harry Potter book said about Voldemort, that the things he did were terrible, but they were great. But I must disagree with you. Sure, the line between genius and insanity is a pretty fine line, I have trouble finding it myself, but Hitler was a bit more than "extremely corrupted by power" as you put it. There is a such thing as pure eviil in the world. And as for a difference between a good leader and a leader who did good, I'm pretty sure that the definition of a good leader involves NOT starting a global war in which your country is utterly defeated, beaten down, you commit suicide, your enemies divide your country in sections for themselves, and everyone on the planet for the rest of history remembers you as a crazed, murdering motherf***er.

That is simply wrong. Adolf Hitler was an impeccable leader. His empire was outstanding in the time he took for him to acquire it. His fan base, and birth of "Hitler-youth" was BRILLIANT. Of course he was extremely corrupted with power, and i am all too aware of the evils he committed and approved, but no doubt in my mind he was one of the greatest leaders of all time. Its not like he just took power, the people gave it to him. He was adored and that was much of the German's fault. He wrote a book years before he was even in power and he told what all of his plans were when be gained power. The people of Germany were so brainwashed into their belief in superiority, they let a crazy man on a mission tear apart their country, building an evil empire. It is not all the peoples fault, but they didn't do anything to stop Hitler's rule, they praised his leadership. You can hardly call it praise...demanded, begged. Yes, he may not have done at all great things, and was probably an extremely troubled mind, but he was still a brilliant one in how fast he acquired the power he wanted from the people. It was almost too easy. There's a big difference between a good leader and a leader who did good.

Eh, it's possible. As far as worst criminals in history who may even be more notorious than Hitler, I have to say Ghenghis Khan. Even 800 years later, people still know of him rather well. I mean, after all, him and his successors killed about 10-30,000,000 people, perhaps as much as 7-8% of the world's entire population at the time. In 800 years will people still know of Hitler when those who remember his reign have all passed? Perhaps, but one cannot know for certain.
