Wikileaks: Making History Isn’t The Same as Doing Great Things

Wikileaks, a group that leaks classified material, has taken a huge step. They want to make history, but are they just being morons?

Wikileaks.org is the internet home for leaked classified materials. They claim to be doing it for democracy, being a nonprofit organization that considers themselves journalists, having all their stories founded in leaked info sent to them. While their main goal, to report the whole truth to people, is not bad, their execution is slightly distorted.

Honestly, I believe they care more about making history than producing truth. To quote their site, “At 5pm EST Friday 22nd October 2010 WikiLeaks released the largest classified military leak in history.” They leaked 391,832 reports online for the world to see. Leaks which State Department lawyer Harold Koh warned would put lives in danger.

Apparently Julian Assange, Wikileaks’ founder believes he can end the war doing this. I wonder what else he believes, I’m sure if he wrote it all out it would make a great monologue. Either way, it was stupid, dangerous, and I hope proper action is taken by the government.
