William Buckley
In the small village of Marton an interesting story can be found.

The photograph above shows a house in the village of Marton, Cheshire, U.K. which was once the original village school and later became the Post Office and was the birth place of William Buckley.
Buckley was born in 1780 and was transported to Australia for taking part in a mutiny. He escaped prison upon landing in Australia and spent the next 32 years living with a tribe of Aborigines, eventually marrying a deceased Chiefs Wife. At 6ft 6in in height Buckley would have towered over the Aborigines, and he had almost forgotten how to speak English after spending so many years in the outback. He died in 1856, aged 76 after falling from his horse. Buckleys Cave and Buckleys Falls in Australia are named after him, and also the saying “doing a Buckley”.
