Witch Hunt
An Article on the Persecution of Witches Throughout the Ages.
The Persecution of Witches.
.
“Witch” in the English language is a word which pre-dates Christianity, it is a word and concept referring to someone who practices magic, and I will use the “witch” word when referring to other cultures.
The persecution and punishment of witches goes back into antiquity, at least as far back as ancient Egypt and Babylon, there is a mention of the trial and punishment of witches in ” The Code of Hammurabi” c1800 B.C.
“If a man has put a spell upon another man, and it is not justified, he upon who the spell is laid shall go to the holy river, and into the holy river he shall plunge. If the holy river overcomes him and he is drowned the man who put the spell upon him shall take possession of his house. If the holy river declares him innocent and he remains unharmed the man who laid the spell shall be put to death, and he who plunged into the river shall take possession of the house of he who laid the spell upon him”.

Sorry I haven’t been commenting for a while but I’m currently in school and time definitely gets limited. Things should free up in the next month or two, though.
Your article was not only informative but highly enjoyable. And the pictures you chose were great. Again, I loved it!!
