Worst Leaders of All Time
With elections coming up here a look at some leaders you don’t want.
Adolf Hitler

Do I really need an explanation for this one? He promoted anti-Semitism, established a fascist dictatorship and his bid for conquest caused of 43 million people to lose their lives. He was the driving force behind the Holocaust where over 6 million Jews were murdered. Outside the building where he was born a memorial stone was created that translates to “for peace freedom and democracy — never again fascism — millions dead serve as a reminder”
Mao ZeDong

Although Mao Zedong is regarded highly in China and is considered a highly influential person in modern history, he is responsible for the severe damage to the Chinese economy, culture and foreign relations that are considered to have lead to the death of tens of millions of people. His plan The Great Leap Forward Mao implemented unproven techniques in farming that lead to what is now considered to be the largest famine in human history leading to the starvation of millions.
Robert Mugabe

Robert Mugabe is the president of Zimbabwe but after a runoff election in 2008 his legitimacy as president has been called into serous question. He intervened in the Second Congo War and to finance the war he printed hundreds of trillions of Zimbabwean dollars which lead to hyperinflation. He was accused of harassing and intimidating political opponents, and now the country suffers from food and oil shortages as well as massive internal displacement.
Pol Pot

Pol Pot was the Prime Minister of Cambodia in the late 1970’s. He imposed a policy known as “year zero” where people living in the city were sent out to the country to work on collective farms. These policies lead to salve labor, malnutrition, poor medical care, and executions. Total casualties are an estimated around 1.7 million people which was a staggering 26% of the population at the time.
Vlad III

Vlad III was the prince of Wallachia in the 15th century. He was known for his extremely cruel punishments during his rule. He was a tyrant that took sadistic pleasure from torturing and killing his enemies. It is estimated he is responsible from the deaths of 100,000 people. It is believed that he burned, skinned, and roasted his victims. Vlad inspired the 1897 novel Dracula.
