10 Ways to Stay Safe During Halloween Trick-or-Treating

Don’t loose sight of your kids even for a second.

  1. Don’t loose sight of your kids even for a second. Especially if they are under the age of 11and if it is after 6 or 7 pm. (There are many weird people running around at that time.)
  2. It is best if you go in a group of people and always carry a flashlight or some kind of light to let people know that you are there if it is too dark to see. Something fun to do would be to buy glo-sticks and put one around each child’s neck.
  3. Don’t go on a street where there aren’t many lights. And don’t go to houses that don’t have any lights on either.
  4. If you are wearing a mask of some kind, make sure that you can see through it without any danger of you tripping over something.
  5. If you are the only adult in the gruop make sure that you are constantly checking to see if anyone has been left behind or missing.
  6. Don’t go into a stranger’s house unless you know the person very well., AND the adult in the group goes in too.
  7. Plan Ahead! Plan where you will be going, and if you already know, plan what houses you will visit. Make sure that before you go trick-or-treating everyone knows where to go in case they get lost.
  8. Check all the candy, and if they are open do not eat it.
  9. Make sure you are carrying a cellphone! If there are older children with you make sure each one has one too or at least some of them. This may be your only way of communication if anything happens.
  10. Stay Close, don’t talk to strangers, and have a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
