2009 Halloween Kids & Safety

Great Safety to make sure your kids have a fun and safe halloween.

Hello, Halloween is right around the corner tonight and I want to share some great ideas on how to keep your kids safe. First off, I want to thank you for reading this because I am very new to writing articles so please comment and like if you enjoyed reading this. Just Follow My Bullets below so it could be easier finding the information you need.

  • What is Trick-or-Treating?

Trick or Treating is what kids today pretty much shorten the name “get candy from strangers”. Trick or Treating has been along for a long time since the worlds first halloween. People only call this night Trick or treating because if Hosts didn’t want to give out treats to the little kids, then something was going to go wrong. Kids are usually afraid to mess up one anothers propertys today because those kids know the concequences if they get caught by the local police.

  • When is Trick-or-Treating?

Trick-or-treating starts as early as 5:00pm to 6:00pm for kids 8 years and younger. For Kids between ages 8 – 12 should be trick or treating around from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Kids 12 years old stay out way longer because they always have friends with each other, have cell phones (so you can contact them), and will be really hard for them to get lost.

  • Safety Tips for Small Children:
  1. Children under a certain age should always be accompanied by a responsible adult.
  2. Costumes and masks should not cover the eyes or ears, or restrict movement.
  3. Costumes should have reflective tape on them, and be accompanied with a flashlight and whistle. Glow sticks are handy to have in their pockets as well.
  • Older Kids wanting to Trick-or-Treat:
  1. If your child is old enough to go alone, agree on a neighborhood route.
  2. Agree on who the child is going with and make sure they have contact numbers and a cell phone with them.
  3. Set a firm time as to when they will be home.
  4. Stress to the child about the importance of not talking to strangers, or accepting rides from them.
  5. Always check the candy over before they begin eating it. Throw away anything that looks suspicious.

I hope You enjoyed reading my article and happy halloween.
