A NEW Year

Greetings,

                I didn’t say happy new year this time too make a point and the point is this. Why do we celebrate a coming new year ? I never did understand it. What is there to really celebrate ? The calendar of time was invented thousands of years ago by the earliest astronomers. Did they celebrate the changing of the years ?  It was all about tracking the sun and the changes that came with each passing season. When they finally discovered that it all came down to a year, I would imagine that they celebrated but, why do we ? Do we even know who it was that discovered the calendar year ?  It’s not about someones birthday or a great accomplishment by a scientist that we celebrate. No,,,It’s only about what ? A passing year ? A new year ? A stitch of time. Thats all. An excuse to have a big party for a stitch of time. Over the last few years, I have realized that It means nothing to me so, I just stay home. And of course, hope that next year will be better.
