A Simple and Inexpensive Last Minute Christmas Gift to Make
This project is easy enough for children to make for their parents of for teenagers to make for their friends.

For this project you will need
- An attractive mug
- Some cellophane
- A candy cane
- 5 sachets of hot chocolate, coffee or individual flavoured tea bag sachets.
- A quantity of mini marshmallows (for hot chocolate only)
- A small plastic bag
- A chocolate bar or tube of sweets

I put a small quantity of crumpled up tissue paper in the base of the mug so that the items would stick out of the mug at an appropriate height.
I took a small amount of mini marshmallows from a larger container and packed them in a small self seal plastic bag. The bag I chose had a Christmas design, it was bought from a craft shop and had ten bags in the pack.
I arranged the hot chocolate sachets, chocolate bar, candy cane and marsmallows in the mug. If using coffee or teabags you can vary the contents of the mug according to the recipient.
When I was happy with the way that the items were arranged I covered the the mug and contents with cellophane and sealed it at the back with a gift label.
Last Christmas my daughter made these for her university friends. We bought a couple of huge tubs of mini marshmallows from the pound shop, the mugs all came from a pound shop, the candy canes, chocolate bars and hot chocolate sachets all came from supermarket multi-packs. The cost of a finished mug worked out at around £3.

Thanks for the nice comments, the thing I like about this gift is that all the things included will be used and the recipient will be left with a nice mug. It is a very practical gift.

What a brilliant idea! I will have a look about over here in Cyprus for the tiny marshmallows and candy cane. If not I will adapt, thanks for the idea.
