A Stress-free Valentine’s Day
Need ideas to please your loved one this year? Here are some tidbits to get your imagination moving.
One of this country’s most beloved holidays is coming up in February. Yes, you guessed – it is Valentine’s Day, February 14, which happens to be on a Saturday this year! Spouses look for wonderful things for their mates; dating couples try to outdo each other with lofty and romantic ideas; shy guys get their first shaky foot in the door with their secret loves; even children get in on the act passing out hearts and candies.
However, there is a stressful side to Valentine’s Day. My husband and I have been married for thirty years, and every year he tries to top what he has done before. As the recipient you gotta love it! But after thirty years, do think there’s much he hasn’t already thought of? That is unneeded stress. Couples put stress on each other to do better than before, better than each other, better than their friends – it’s ridiculous and sad to see such abuse of a day that should be sweet, romantic, and simply fun.
Listed below are some ideas that are simple, easy to do, gentle on the pocketbook and absolutely stress-free. These are only examples. If you take these suggestions and let your imagination go, you will be surprised at what else you can think of. But the main thing to do is to sit down, now, and talk to your spouse or significant other about what you both want for Valentine’s Day. Something planned, or spontaneous? Dinner in, or dinner out? A planned special treat for you both, or a surprise? Everybody finds different things attractive – even from one year to the next. So read through this starter list, get your creative juices flowing, and start planning now to make somebody’s Valentine’s Day extra-special and your own stress-free.
Mineral Springs under the Stars – If you hail from Arizona, the El Dorado Hot Springs is a wonderful getaway. Located just west of Phoenix, you can rent a private soaking tub by the hour, the day, or overnight. You get a large, fenced area with a hot tub of pure, natural mineral water, and a smaller, cooler tub as well. There is a shower, a sitting area, partial shade, and a rest room nearby. Everything else you bring yourself. Can you imagine relaxing in a hot tub under the stars, eating chocolate covered strawberries and sharing a bottle of wine? Lovely article, lovely story. I live on the island of love now, I am content and stress free, my DH bought me perfume last year, it was called Alien, I asked him what made him buy it, he said, I smelt it and thought of you.It turns out he hadn’t looked at the name, I am so glad he didn’t say he saw it and thought of me!
