Easter is coming and that’s a great opportunity to show you some interesting and amazing facts about Easter.

  • Every firework we launch produces 155 decibels!
  • 30.000.000 kisses are given in Greece in the first 3 minutes after the priest announces that Christ is risen.
  • One portion of sheep (about 200gr) has 200mg of cholesterol
  • A big red egg has 215mg of cholesterol (so prefer the sheep :P )
  • An ordinary candle with a game attached to it, costs about 40 Euros
  • It usually takes 3 tries for someone to set a fire in order to roast the sheep.
  • The person that roasts the sheep usually take 1200 calories in about 6 hours (eating bits of the sheep :P )
  • If you roast the sheep for 6 hours, you will lose 600 calories (without eating!)
  • If you want to use an electric motor to roast the sheep, then you will have to pay 1,5 Euro for the electricity used!
  • People tend to gain about 3-4 kilos during Easter.
  • In the last 7 days of Easter, people spend about 10 hours in the Church.
  • It takes about 2 months to lose the gained weight during Easter (because of the high levels of fat in the food)
  • During Easter people tend to spend about 3 hours talking on the phone with their loved ones!
  • In Good Friday, more that 4.000.000 people follow the Epitaph in the streets of every town in Greece!

    3 hours on the phone?

    I wish. My loved ones are serious talkers. And is’t it messed up how it takes 2 months to get easter weight off, then here in the states, we have fourth of july barbecues and then by the time you get that off, it’s Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.

    We might as well just stay fat.
