Blackpool Earthquake 2011( April Fools Day Hoax? )

Information on the 2011 Blackpool Earthquake.

At 3.30 am on the 1st April 2011 (yesterday) there was an earthquake in Blackpool which registered as 2.2 on the Richter Scale. Many people believed it to be a hoax for April Fool’s day but local authorities are assuring residents thjat the earthquake was 100% genuine. I personally did not feel the earthquake but I have heard accounts of many people who were woken up by the shaking.

As far as I know there has been very little damage to buildings including the Pleasure Beach and the Blackpool tower.

So it is fairly conclusive to say that an earthquake was infact genuine and although it caused very little damage it did happen.

Please comment if you felt the earthquake.
