Cheap And Easy Halloween Costumes: The Warrior

A step by step how-to guide on making a warrior costume.

For this costume you will need a few items.

  • wooden pole(1/2 inch thick, any type, 4ft. long)
  • wooden board(any type, 1/4-1/2 inch thick, 2ft.x1.5ft.)
  • roll of black or grey duct tape
  • pair of scissors
  • roll of tin or aluminum foil,
  • sheet of fabric(any kind, at least 1ftx1ft.)

Now for the fun part!

Spear: Take the wooden pole, the duct tape, the tin or aluminum foil, and the scissors. Cut out some aluminum or tin foil and put it on one end of the pole. Then shape it into a pointy form. Next you duct tape the metal point to the wooden pole. If you feel like it then you could put duct tape aroud the whole spear to make it look cooler.

Shield: Take the duct tape, the aluminum or tin foil, the scissors, the wooden board, and the fabric. First wrap duct tape all around the back of the board if it isn’t very smooth (for comfort). If it is already smooth then just put the duct tape on the front. Then cut the fabric into 2 strips- 1.5in. by 10 inches. Now duct tape the ends of the strips by the last inch of each side, facing up and down with the boards long side pointin the same way as the strips. They should be a few inches apart from each other. Then continue to duct tape the straps ends ( inch by inch) until you can fit your arm through both straps at once and has 1 inch of slack or less. Then cut some aluminum or tin foil so it will fit on the front of the board and duct tape it on the front of the board until it it looks like a metal shield from the front.
