Chinese new year is now upon us as we join in celebrations too.
Chinese new year is now upon us as we join in celebrations too. This year marks the year of the Dragon which is said to be special for a child born in this year being unique to all signs in the Lunar year. Each year Little China town celebrate depending on the calender but usually between January and February. There is always fireworks and dancing of the Dragon with the deafening sounds of the drums. The business eateries are visited by the culture of the dragon where money and goods are given or offered as a good will gesture and evil spirits are chased away to bring a prosperous new year for the district.
It is an honour to see the seasoned Asian community celebrate their life tradition where good luck is fulfilled in the community. Everywhere you look there is joy in the streets and much food and drink to be enjoyed.There is no question you need to be in a good place early or have a good vantage point and keep cool when temperature is hot. It is great to have lunch at one of the many restaurants that promise a wonderful day.Take a walk and take in the sights of many Asian traditions singing and dace and the many eateries for some light refreshments.
