Christmas Alternatives

Go Skiing

If you live in a place that warrants, go skiing or snowboarding for the day. Barely anyone is on the mountain, and it’s sure to make you be glad that Christmas exists. I’ve done this many years, and on many Christmases it actually snows! This is the perfect option for non-Christians that want an alternative, because everyone’s happy!

Go to the Movies

Have you wanted to see one of those new movies, but it’s been sold out for weeks? No problem! Go to the movies on Christmas day. It is very unlikely that you will find very many people there, so any popular movie is a go. I would definitely recommend seeing Avatar (in 3D if you can!) or Invictus.

Rent or Buy Movies

Don’t feel like leaving the house? Renting or buying movies is another great alternative to Christmas, especially if there are a lot of different movies that you’ve been trying to catch up on. It’s easy to just pick up a couple of movies from the store the day before.

Read a Book (or Two)

There are thousands of amazing books out there to be read. Pick one or two up and spend the day reading. You’ll get to read a great story, and feel relaxed for the entire day.

Exercise

Get that six-pack you’ve always dreamed about (or at least start)! Christmas day is a great opportunity to start out a new work out routine or pump some lead.

Closing

It’s important to realize that just because Christmas may dominate the media for a while, there are definitely alternatives to being subjugated by the holiday. Give a couple of the options below a try, and I’m sure you’ll have a great time!
