Christmas and Christmas Decorations

Last weekend I cleaned the house. At night time, around seven, I opened the hallway closet door and took out the Christmas tree. My kids got all excited and helped me to decorate the tree. After an hour they got tired and they went to bed. Thirty minutes later the tree looked the way I wanted and then I went to bed.

My mom came over the following day. She saw the tree and looked at me like I was crazy. She did not have to say a word. I know her for forty years, so in situations like this one,  I can read her mind by looking at her eyes.

I cannot explain you or her, why did I put the Christmas tree up before Halloween. I just felt like doing it. I felt like it was time for Christmas to arrive. This is something strange because I am a person that likes to follow rules.  For seven years,  I always have put the Christmas tree  up the last week of November.  This is my rule. In this way, all the Christmas decoration are up, for my oldest son’s birthday in December.

Maybe this Christmas will be special. Maybe I just want the year to be over. One thing I do know. Every time I walk by the living room and see that Christmas tree I feel good. I think about my kids, my husband, my family and friends, when I look at the tree. Thinking about them makes me so happy. I know I am just looking at a tree, but looking at it reminds me that I have a lot to be thankful for ,because I already have all the gifts I want.
